The story of Myth Films could have easily started with the tale of two kids from Parkdale but realistically it begins some years later in the trenches of the Canadian Military.  Two army buddies find they share an affinity for good film making and their destiny is set.

Gerry Mendoza CD, BA - (Founder)

Gerry Mendoza has over 19 years of professional experience in the film and video industry. From early on Gerry learned the science of shadow and light from some of the finest cinematographers. He started as a camera operator for Marc Champion (CSC) known for Anne of Green Gables/Out of the Blue, a 1st Assist Camera for Yuri Yacobiw (CSC) known for Sue Thomas F.B.I./Little Mosque on the Prairie and was a Gaffer for Derek Van Lint (CSC) known for Alien/Dragon Slayer/X-Men. His expertise is a culmination of a career built on every aspect of film making from being an editor, grip, gaffer, camera operator, casting director, director of photography, director, producer and executive producer.

Gerry's education and specialized training comes from noted institutions; he completed the Ryerson University's Film program with a Bachelor of Arts in Photographic Arts Film Studies and attended the Royal Canadian Artillery School. His affiliations have garnered him many awards to name a few: Best Foreign Short - Motorcity International Film Festival, People's Choice Award - Delray Beach Film Festival, Viewers Award/Best Short - Reel World Film Festival. He has received a Canadian Forces Decoration through his military service and awarded the Joe Green Award, the highest award in the Artillery which exemplifies the spirt of a gunner.
